I usually do a compression test if the same cyl. misses. that eliminates the engine itself, like a burning valve. it never hurts to check the fuel pressure when a fuel injected engine dosnt run right. its possible #1 injector is not working properly and weak pressure could be starving the cyl. for gas

You need to get a fuel pressure test on your fuel manifold. Since you've done the electric parts it's time to check for weak gas pressure. It can give you a miss-fire at one or more cylinders. The test is fairly simple but can eliminate a whole system early in the process. Next after this is a compression check which is more difficult and involved.

Will bad crank shaft sensor keep a car from starting.04 dodge stratus 2.4L x code

Yes. The computer has no idea where any of the pistons are so it doesn't know when to spray an injector or fire a plug.

My 2001 Dodge Statues Coupe RT.has random mis fires. I have replaced bank 1 o2 sensors but it still mis fires as I give it gas to accelerate. Your thoughts? Steve

O2 sensors won't make misfires they only monitor air in the emissions if you have a random misfire it's most likely gonna be your coil pack or a cam pos sensor the cam sensor detects the location of the cam and tell the pcm and it tells the coil to fire your are getting O2 codes cause it detects unburned fuel it the exhaust

No ingnition fire on cylinders 2 and 4 2004 dodge stratus 2.4 L engine

Easy! The DIS module has failed...!

The Stratus 2.4L engine uses what is called "a wasted spark" ignition system, that feeds two cylinders with the same ignition coil. Havind a pair of Cylinders dead means one of the coils or the module is inoperative. Amclaussen.

My dodge ram 2004 is showing a mis fire code,What do I need to do to fix this problem?

if it is a random cyl. miss fire then a tune up would fix thuis prob. if it is just one cyl. you might have a bad coil or injector in this cyl.

04' Ram 1500, bad mis-fire. cust repl s/plugs. no help. Codes for coils #7 & 8 w/mis-fire. replaced coils & wire set. Better, but still P0300. Compression good

You still have random misfires (PO300)
You most likely replaced those coils that set a code, and those were not the one bad offender, spiking the computer module.
Take a new coil and put in a cylinder,no change, replace old coil and move new one to next cylinder. You can do that once or twice a day, if you have nothing else to do. You need a 90 degree day, to really get that solved, unless you have an ignition oscilloscope.
Never had a bad spark plug in 45 years.

Dodge obd code p0305

The DTC (Data Trouble Code) P0305 is the generic OBD-II DTC for "Cylinder 5 Mis-fire Detected", and it means that the OBD-II control unit has detected a problem with the #5 cylinder.

The problem could be a faulty spark plug, or a spark plug wire for the #5 cylinder, or the coil for that cylinder could be faulty (2.7 liter), or the distributor or distributor cap could be faulty (3.0 liter), or the fuel injector for the #5 cylinder could be faulty.

Before you look for any electrical problems causing the mis-fire on the #5 cylinder, first do a compression check to be certain that the mis-fire is not caused by a mechanical problem.

Here are the firing order diagrams for the 2.7 and the 3.0 liter enginesto help assist you.

I have two codes that come up for my 2005 dodge

Multiple miss-fire and miss-fire on #5. I would first change the sparkplugs then replace the distributor cap and rotor. There is a good chance this will fix the problem, but no guarentees.

Hi..my name is Keith..and if your Dodge was running just fine until you gassed up..and then after..you had alot of misfires..i would suspect that here was water in the fuel that you put in from the gas station..it happens.and i would go to the autoparts store and buy a fuel additive that will let the water be consumed..i hope this will help you..if not please write back
