Well if the lock actuator is bad you'll have no choice but to replace it ! An no there isn't anything common with these ,they do go bad ! An before replace parts you need to test the electrical circuit ,power an ground. If you don't know how to do that there are some good videos on youtube on basic automotive electrical testing an how to read a wiring diagram , because you need to know what wire is what !
