My 1999 xj8 electric antenna broke while I was washing my car. Can I buy just the antenna part since I just replaced the whole thing a few months ago?

Ive done that a few times over the years when I forgot to push the antenna down when going through the car wash. Depending on where the antenna is, you have to get behind the panel it is mounted on. IE/ The guard, roof, windscreen frame. This will mean removal of whatever panel is behind to get to it.

You will have to replace all of the antenna.

The BCT-2 uses your car FM antenna ! Or go to Radio Shack or a wrecking yard and just buy a used FM antenna ! Be sure to get the whole thing including the antenna lead with the factory end ! Don't Cut The Antenna Lead !

if part is still left where antenna was take a pair of pliers and turn counterclockwise(left) to remove old piece left. go to most auto parts stores and they should have an original equipment replacement antenna

Yes, you could replace the antennae rod only! You could order it from your dealer parts center and have them replace it.

Thats much cheaper than buying the whole power antenae assembly.

Depending on if your car has a power antenna or not, you may have to replace the whole unit.

The good news is, no, you usually don't have to replace the wires on most GM vehicles. Open your trunk, remove the insulating carpet from the side of the trunk where your antenna is located , to expose the power antenna unit.

Unplug the electrical connector from the antenna . Unscrew the plastic ring on the outside of the car, where the antenna rest on the body of the vehicle. Pull the antenna unit inside through the hole to remove.

You can usually get a new one for about $89 bucks at Autozone.

Installation is the reverse of remove. Make sure the ignition key is completely off when performing the replacement. Follow all installation instruction on the package. Improper installation could cause rain to leak in your antenna during bad weather and not be water tight.

more likely the mast drive cable is broken and needs to be replaced, very common. You will need to contact the dealer to see if they sell a mast repair kit for your car, many Japanese cars make you replace the whole antenna to fix this problem.

Just the wire/whip or the whole works? If it's just the metal part that bends, you should be able to take a wrench or a pliars to the base, there should be two smooth edges where to put the wrench on and remove busted piece. Go and buy replacent whip/wire and install. FYI, salvage yards would have the cheapest for ya.

You can buy the brackets or seat frame seperatly.
The thing is that you have to take the seat out and disassemble the whole thing to replace the bracket.
