WHERE DO YOU FIND THE TROUBLE CODE RETRIEVAL UNIT, ONE SITE STATED IT WAS UNDER THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE DASH, FOUND THAT ONE BUT IT TRIGGERS THE ABX SYSTEM
For a 1992 Accord, it is a blue connector with two wires in it, located behind the plastic kick panel on the right side. Use a wire to short those two wires in the blue connector. Then turn the key switch ON but DO NOT start. Then observe the check engine light. It will flash the code(s).

You need to have the pcm scanned for fault codes. If it is newer than a 1996 model, Autozone will scan it for free and tell you the fault codes. A mechanic would go from there, based on what the codes reveal. The low idle is probably a symptom of the fault.
Anytime the MIL light stays on with the engine running, the pcm (engine computer) has detected a fault and will turn the light on. It also stores a trouble code in memory, maybe called a pending code if only recently started, but the code can be found with a hand held scanner, hooked up to the port under the dash for code retrieval.
When you have done the repairs, and the old codes erased, you will see that the engine light always turns on when the key is turned on. If there are no more problems , the light will go out very quickly after the engine is running. It is a bulb and computer check that the light is on with key on, and stays on until the engine is started.
Take off the distributor cap and look for oil in there under the rotor. With that generation of Honda's its common for the distributor drive shaft seal to wear out and leak oil into the top end of the distributor which will cause it to die out randomly at times when the oil interferes with spark. It gets worse as it progresses. The fix is to replace the distributor.

Acura vehicles 1986-95 obd1 code retrieval
There are a few different ways to retrieve the codes for "check engine light" for Acura vehicles. One method is to use a led light (sometimes 2 led lights) on the computer or controller box itself. If it has 2 led lights, the color is red and amber. The red is used for flashing the codes whereas the amber is used for adjustment. If you have only a single led light indicator, then that is used for flashing the code.
The controller box can be found by lifting the carpet of the passenger side front foot well or floorboard. You can see the led lights without removing the controller. On other models, you can find the controller under the driver or passenger front seat.
The second way to get the code is using a jumper wire on the diagnostic connector located on the kick panel at the front passenger side. You then watch the codes being flashed at the dash panel after you turn the key on. To read the code being flashed is easy. Example: Code 23 is 2 long flashes followed by 3 short flashes. A longer pause separates the next code that follows.

All 1996 and newer BMW vehicles utilize a "D" style plug-in connector that connects to the code reader. On most vehicles the connector is located under dash board driver's side right under steering column.
