I have a 2005 GMC diesel HD2500, at 60mph sometimes when trying to pass or go up a hill my truck looses power. Once it gets under 2000 RPMs then it starts to work right again. What do you think is wrong? Jim

sounds pretty normal. what speed do you try out the passing gear? anything above 35-45 mph and it will feel like neutral. Passing gear is actually only 1st gear. When you press down the pedal, it forces the transmisson to shift into low gear.
These sound like two seperate problems. The first sounds like a clogged fuel filter or faulty fuel pump. The second problem could be a bad transmission filter.
Your catylatic converter may be clogged if your loosing power or top speed is less than it was. You can check this when its running with a battery operated infared heat gauge. the temperature of the muffler should be around the same temp. as the catylatic converter.
