If you are just changing the pads there are 2 bolts that split the caliper in halve and allow you to change the pads thres two bolts are located top and bottom on the backside of the caliper and require an allen wrench for removal to remove the whole caliper there are 2 bolts on the back side closer to the center top and bottom that require a 17mm socket remove these 2 bolts clamp off the flex brake hose with a clamp and remove from caliper and work up and down until caliper comes away from disc

Brakes are wearing uneven. driver side brakes are engaging but passenger side is not

Either the caliper is bad or there is air in the line.I would pull the wheel off and have someone pump the breaks and see if the breaks try to move then try bleeding them out before I spent the money on a new caliper.

Am contemplating buying 96 Mazda 626 but ABS warning light is on.

yes, if they've been on there awhile. while the front pads take most of the abuse, people sometimes forget about the rear pads which are 1/2 the size of the front ones.

Replaced the rear pads/rotors and calipers on a 2000 Mazda 626. Removed parking brake cable as per repair manual. However, after reinstalling the cable, I don't seem to be able to adjust the parling brake...

There should be an adjuster next to the handbrake lever. You may have to remove some trim to see it but it is in the general area of the lever.

Brake pad replacement steps for 1996 Mazda Protege

The pins (slides) are corroded, you need to clean them up. Use Liquid wrench or some such to loosen things up, then have at 'em with fine sand or emery paper. When everything is nice and bright and shiny, brake- lube the slides, reassemble. Take your honey out for a root beer.

Back rear brakes metal to metal sound

I would not doubt that it is from aftermarket parts.

Use silicon grease on the caliper slides and use brake grease on all metal to metal contact parts when installing the new parts.

Also, grind away any rust where the pads sit on the caliper bracket before installing them.

How to change out front brake pads on a 2001 mazda 626?

remove 2 caliper bolts, remove old pads. put new pads in there place, before installing the caliper, be sure to squeeze the piston back in the caliper otherwise it will not fit back over the new pads. than replace the caliper and the 2 mounting bolts.

No brake line pressure on 1 caliper after replacing caliper

I suspect you may have twisted the hose on re assembly. The other possibility is that the bleed nipple is choked with dirt and rust. Remove it completely and see if the fluid starts to run out. If so replace nipple or clean out.
