Question about 2005 Nissan Altima

1 Answer

Out of nowhere, my 2004 nissan altima bucked.. then stalled after a 3 hour drive on the expressway. after letting my car sit for a about 10 minutes, i turned it back on, successful.. or so i thought, as i started to pull away it started.. bucking and then about an 8th of a mile up the road, i stopped at a gas station and it stalled and wasnt able to move. i again waited a few mintues, got back in, my car started but was then unable to put it in gear, if i did it died. i replaced my cam and crank sensor. As i'm returning home from my 3 hour trip, my car decided to do everything all over again,i was able to drive it home but it stalled in my driveway.. i let it rest and the next day i drove it to the dealership, they couldnt diagnose anything so i drove it to work which is about 30 expway. i get off the exit ramp and it stalls. why is this happening only after long distances?

Any check engine lights comeing on it sounds like a intermiting problem that will eventually give the car a tune up plug wires have the injectors cleaned

My 2002 Altima SL 2.5 drives and shifts fine for an hour or so. Then it won't shift from first gear.

In spite of what Firestone did it still sounds like you have a defective speed sensor. Other people have also had this problem and it was solved by replacing the speed sensor.

I hope it resolves your problem.

Hi, have a 1995 nissan maxima automatic, 160K miles, after starting and driving about 10 minutes the car stalls while driving, and will not start for 10-20 minutes, then starts, and does same thing again...

it could be an egnition module or somthing basic like fuel presure .. prob the pump .. but lots of things can make it do that .. u need a mechanic to look at it
