I have changed the whole sunroof on my mx6,old one was to rusted around edges.if your roof opens but not close it sounds like your motor is dying or your electrical connections to motor are in rough shape.you should be able to close your roof by pushing button and placing your hand in middle of roof and help by lighty pushing/guiding close. be sure roof is straight and not crooked or it will jam and burn out motor

The motor is in the front area of the roof unit.If you can drop the switch and trim around the front of sunroof unit and headliner ,you can can access the sunroof drive motor. The drive shaft of the motor can be turned mannually with an allen wrench which will assist in closing and identifying the problem area.If its hung very badly ...remove the sunroof motor then push the roof closed.

When you press the button do you hear any noise coming from the sunroof? If not and you say you check the fuses then more the likely the motor burned out and you will have to replace it. But if you hear noise coming from the sunroof it may be that the sunroof came off track or is simply jammed for some reason.

a solution that i had is that if you can open your sunroof without it opening ur shade try that then fold the shade by pushing between or in the middle of it and popout the shade. this works but try not to push to hard or you can break the plastic runners on the side of the shade. check to see if nothing is in the way of the runners. then put back the back part first then slide it all the way to the back then, do the other part and clip them back together (there might be a little metal piece that pushes your shades back so check that first to see if its there first)
Definitely, you'll have to take a look to see if any obstruction is visible. To check the fuses first you'll need to find them. The fuse block cover should illustrate what each fuse is for. You can visibly check the fuses, with a flashlight. Just take a look at the sunroof fuse and check that its not burned. That the metal inside goes from one side to the other and its not burned or broken. You can use a test light or a multimeter, a test-light will do. I usually check them visibly, its obvious when you have a blown fuse just by looking at it. Its better just to pull out the suspected fuse to check it.

It sounds like it just needs to be reinitialized. Turn your key to the on position with motor off and hold the up/full vent button down for at least 30 seconds or until your sunroof either clicks or goes to the full vent position. That should fix your problem.
