Trunk release is in the glove box. Will no longer open trunk

check fuses and relays and get a new key cut their is no EMERGENCY release

If there is not a release below the steering column check in side the glove box for a trunk release/reset.

IIRC, there is a trunk release in the glove box, or check by the gas cap cover release on the floor to the left of the driver's seat.

I suggest getting a helper. While you sit in the vehicle and press the button inside the passenger glove box, ask your friend to lift the trunk. If your friend can open the trunk easily, your torsion bar needs to be replaced. This acts a bit like a spring to push the trunk open when the lock releases it. Another issue could be the lock release has gummed up with dust in the lock grease. You vehicle is 21 years old and grease thickens up with dust and such over the years.

something push on trunk release switch in glove compartment when you open the glove box it release the switch

remove the latch from the glove box and take it to a locksmith
he can make a key from it to open the trunk

Does the key you have open the driver door? Do you have a keyless entry key fob, does it work? you also might try removing the glove box and disconnecting the wires from the trunk button and touching them together with a paper clip or other small wire but before you do that look in your owners manual a determine which fuse is for the trunk release and check the fuse then the last would be to have GM dealer check to see if the key you have is the proper key fror your car and if it may be worn out

make sure the switch in the glove box is turned on.

i just bot mazda millenia and i can't find trunk release???!!!!

open the glove box and push the valet button, then try the trunk release,,,good luck....
