For a while in the early days of pollution control there used to be an air pump which forced air into the side of the catalytic converter in order to lower the percentage of bad stuff in the total output of the exhaust. Perhaps that is what you are looking at. Most were disconnected almost immediately but no later than the first replacement of the converter.

Fuel pump relay location

Yes In the trunk of some of the Crown Vics there is a switch next to the air ride control. It is called an Inertia switch and has a reset button. If you do not find this switch in the trunk, you will find it behind one of the kick panels above the front seat floorboard. It will sometimes activate by mistake with an impact.

The fuel pump relay should be in a Relay trio that is piggy-back to the Powerbox under the hood on the driver's side. There are plastic clips on one end which when pressed will allow the Relay trio to slide out of the case and towards the engine.

Where is the air pump located

If the vehicle is equipped it will be driven by the serpentine belt under hood. It will be on lower left on front of engine if you are looking at motor from front

I dont see if the turn signal light has to do any thing with the engine shutting off, make sure the IAC idle air control valve is working, air filter is good, fuel filter is good and IF your vehicle has a power steering pressure switch then that could be causing it but with 1985 Crown Vic I dout it.

Where is the fuel pump located?

99 crown vic pump is located in front side of gas tank right behind rearend, jack car up by frame to lower rearend out of the way to gain access to pump.

I'm trying to locate the breather location on my 1990 ltd crown vic motor is 5.0 filter

it is way in the back of the intake by the firewall under the pcv valve and hose and under the intake plenum .you will need needle nose pliers to get it out as it is down the intake manifold a bit.sometimes they are held in by carbon buildup,if so soak with carb cleaner for a while and wiggle it out!f
