there two different bulbs that fit GM dash printed circuit boards one is the 194 wedge bulb and the other is small GM carry's them if you can find a smart parts counterman. NAPA carry's them also can not remember part number a new item since July 2013.
The clock works, correct? It is just not illuminating when your headlights are turned on? If this is the case then it is most likely that you have 2 burned out bulbs. The forester clock bulb is Sylvania bulb part #2723
Hope that helps! I have a bunch of clock related info on my website www.autoclockrepair.com. Let me know if I can be of assistance.
You will have to remove the clock to get access to change that bulb. As for the odometer, you will also have to remove the entire dash cluster, it's a one piece unit, to change that one bulb.
if all other dash lights work you will have to replace clock unit check to see if a bulb is available if so replace it but most clocks wont have a bulb that can be replaced check parts dept at dealer
the clock light doesn't have a separate fuse, it is on the same fuse as all the lights in the dash, what has happened is that the tiny bulb in it has burned out, this bulb is soldered to the circuit board inside the clock, you will need to remove the clock and replace that bulb, radio shack sells the bulb.
this is not a easy fix and it does not have a bulb to illuminate it the illumination is part of a circuit board and the whole unit requires replacementand it is quite expensive, sorry
I had to manually wire to the bulb in the clock from the radio wiring harness. i used wire tapes to get into the radio harness and then i used solder for the clock... make sure u get the + / - right it is a solder connection within the circuit board of the clock. u probably can warranty it. if not buy a new clock or do what i did. mine works fabulous!!!
all you need to do is take the top part ov the steering colum couling off and their shud be 2 screws holding the clocks in.remove them and they will pull out.then simply unplug the wires from the back ov the dash.once out locate the bulb.you can get them from any car spares shop.
It is a common chevy problem for the circuit board that holds to bulb to fail, are your running lights and signals still working back there as well? If not then you need to replace the boards.
