Truck doesnt start in the morning or after long periods of sitting. I have 40 lbs fuel pressure on the rail with key on and 60 while running. pour in a little gas in the throttle body and it starts right...

you should have 60 -66 psi there is a updated fuel pump with a new connector to splice in i would buy a ac delco pump and make sure you check the fuel filter first and if it does end up being the pump its a good habit to but a new fuel filter with it.

I have a 1999 tahoe that has gradually become harder to start. The longer it sits after running the harder it is to start.

could be numerous solutions. new fuel filter, new sparks, weak battery, battery drain, air leak ingress. you need to start with the basics.

97 ford thunder bird lx engine light on rough idle when put in to drive rpm drop below normal

Sounds like you have a vacuum leak. To test you will need a small bottle of propane. Usualy comes in a blue can and a nozzle to control the flow out of it. Start the car. Pop the hood. Locate your vacuum lines. Move the bottle around the lines, intake cleaner, intake manifold. Listen for the idle to smooth out. You will have located your vacuum leak.

Would a fuel pump for a 2005 firebird be compatible with a 2000 firebird? V-6?

only if the part number is the same or you have the specs for the pressures for each pump and you have the capability to mount and wire it up correctly if needed. I personally would recommend against it.

Low fuel pressure

U 1st need to test fuel pressure at the fuel pressure test port on the top of the engione in the fuel supply rail to the injector tops, it looks like a metal tire vale stem, u will need to buy a special fuel pressure tester to do this test. U should have around 55-60 PSI at idle, it should go up when u gun the engine but never go down, if it goes down the fuel filter or pump are suspect.
