Buy a used remote on ebay, put new batteries in it, take it to a dealer and have them test the remote, if it is good have them teach your car to respond to it. it won't cost much and make your son pay for it.

Check if the batteries both are giving at least 1.5volts each. Clean the terminals of the remote control to secure proper contact with the batteries. Check if the negative terminal of the remote have enough pressure to keep the batteries firmly inside the remote control. Point the remote to the sensor of your air conditioner and press the power button. Changing direction of the remote control pointing to the air conditioner while pressing power button. If still air conditioner does not work clean the sensor eye to remove dust and switch again the unit.

If your vehicle accepted the programming codes, then it tells me that your vehicle sensing is working and that your remote worked at least during that period.

Whenever, you change batteries in a remote you should clean the battery and remote contacts with a pencil eraser to get rid of an corrosion.

My remote to open doors stoped working

step one is to replace the battery, you can get new ones at radio shack, walmart, anywhere hearing aid and watch batteries are sold. instructions for opening the transmitter are in the owners manual. if that does not work you may need to take the remote apart and gently clean the electrical contact surfaces with a clean pencil eraser. if that does not work then you need a new transmitter.

MY DODGE RAM HAS A FACTORY INSTALLED REMOTE START BUT THE REMOTE STOPED WORKING I CHANGED THE BATTERY BUT STILL DOES NOT WORK ANY DEAS WHY

Oreilly Automotive stores have a little device the picks up a signal from a remote. Maybe your local parts store will have one. This will verify that your key F.O.B. is working. After that....fuses or possibly a frequency switch in the key FOB got bumped when you changed batteries. Otherwise, catastrophic failure....sorry.

They need to be reprogrammed. You can take the car and the remotes with you to a dealership and have them reprogrammed. Make sure to take both remotes with you.
