The front passenger door will not open, i have tried with central locking, tried to oped from outside with handel, from the inside with the handel, tried pulling up the door button, the door will just not open, when i bress the key for the door to open the buttons pop up but not on the passenger door, it used to pop up but the door would still not open, any help..
Ps is there a secret child lock button somewhere.

i had a similar problem on the front doors .after taking it to a garage for a quote £ 180 i read into it and there are micro swithches in the locks so with a gentle tap with the hand the door unlocks . hope this helps it saved me the money

I had a similar problem with my son's 1998 Jetta K2 4 door. I sprayed loads of WD40 into the locking area from the end of the door through the clip slot, worked the mechanism sprayed some more and finally it start working. My mechanic said these are very prone to moisture causing rusting on the moving parts.

If you are getting a continuous cloud of white smoke make sure to check your coolant level as your problem seems to be a possible head gasket issue.
Does this cloud have a sweet smell to it? Coolant has a distinct odor when it is burned.
Also check the oil. If the oil has a milky look to it on the dip stick you have a head gasket issue.

Mine is doing the exact same.
Have two solutions, will try it later today:
1. Unlock with remote tnen lock with key and then unlock with key.
2. Might be a power problem, check that batery is good.

i can't open one of the rear door of my E46 BMW. from the inside or the outside even using the remote to unlock the door. the power window of the same door not working as well.
