How do i put the serpentine belt back on my 2001

it has a spring loaded tensioner pulley. some use a bolt that you put a wrench on and pry back to release tension to slip belt on. others just use a ratchet drive (3/8) . #5 is the tensioner. going to need to get belt in behind the wrench or you wont be able to slip belt on bc wrench will be in the way

How do i put back on a pulley belt on a 93 continental

Follow the path on the label you find about belt routing. There is 1 arm with a pulley and it is spring loaded. Some people take digital photos before removing the belt and use them as a guide.

There is a shape on the pulley arm to fit a 1/2 breaker bar or wrench. Press against the spring tension to get slack to slip off the belt. Then slip the new belt around the same path leaving the easiest accessible pulley for last. Then slip the belt over the last pulley and restore the tension.

Serpentine belt 1990 ford f150

Find the spring loaded Tensioner pulley and use a wrench on the nut in the center of the pulley to pull the pulley away from the belt. Once you have released enough tension, you can slip the belt off of one of the other pulleys and gently release the Tensioner pulley. slip the belt off the rest of the pulleys and put the new belt in the same way the old one came out, pulling the tensioner pulley out and slipping the belt back under it, before gently releasing. Make a note beforehand of how the belt is installed to be sure you get it back in correctly. The grooves in the belt should go against the grooved pulleys and the flat side of the belt should go against the flat pulleys. This diagram may be helpful.

Does the serpentine belt go around a tensioner and an idler pulley. because i cant find a tensioner for sale at all and im starting to think it doesnt exist. everyone keeps trying to sell me a timing belt...

some use just the alternater with a worm screw to put tenso on the belt or the alternater will have a slider where the screwis located that allows you to tilt the alternater up and down to put tenson on the belt

I have a 1993 ford F150 and the serpertine belt has slipped off how do I put it back on?

I think you have to change the belt as the roughness of new belt help to not to slip from pulley, you can also re-put the belt by using like screw driver to push the belt but watch out your fingers.

Cant ajust tensioner pully

You have a (spring loaded) tensioner. I usually use a rachet and whatever size socket the bolt requires and use a 2 foot hollow pole as a pull handle.. Put the socket and rachet on the bolt, slip the pole over the handle of the rachet and push the tensioner back which will give you the slack room you need to install the belt. Make sure you have the belt around all the other pulley's so it will be a easier to slip it on to your tensioner. This tensioner should adjust itself by spring action.

I need to replace the pulley that puts tension on the belt of a 93 ford f 150 with a 351 engine

Hi:
The basic process to change that pulley is to first loosen and remove the serpentine belt. Make a diagram on paper of the belt path, if there isn't one under the hood on a decal. This is done by putting either a wrench or ratchet on the tensioner, and rotating it away from the direction that it applies pressure to the belt. There is either a square hole to put a ratchet in, or a hex head to attach a wrench. Once you get the belt slipped back, examine the belt to see if it needs replaced. The tensioner assembly is held to the engine with a couple bolts, and can now be removed and replaced. Reinstall the new or old belt, and the last step is to rotate the new tensioner back and slip the last section of belt under it.
