Check for spark (pull a spark plug and arc it to a grounded surface) and check for fuel to the engine (can be done through the spark plug hole opened by removing the spark plug)
SOUND LIKE PROBLEM IN IGNITION SYSTEM OR FUEL SYSTEM. MAKE SURE SPARK PLUGS AND WIRES OKAY.REPLACE DISTRIBUTOR CAP AND ROTOR,REPLACE FUEL FILTER AND AIR FILTER,DO A LITTLE TUNE UP FIRST TO MAKE SURE VECHICLE GETTING GOOD SPARK AND FUEL. IF NOT GETTING SPARK CHECK IGNITION FUSE.IF FUSE OKAY PROBLEM COULD BE IN ASD RELAY OR PCM.CHECK FOR FUEL IF YOU NOT GETTING FUEL CHECK FUEL PUMP FUSE AND RELAY.IF ALL IS GOOD FUEL PUMP COULD BE FAULTY OR PCM. I WOULD HAVE VECHICLE CODE SCAN FIRST TO SEE WHAT FAULT CODES YOU ARE GETTING. DONT GO BUY A LOT NEW PARTS CODE SCANNING WILL KEEP YOU SPENDING A LOT OF MONEY,CODE SCANNING WILL HELP SPEED UP PROCESS TO SEE WHAT CAUSING VECHICLE NOT TO CRANK.YOUR GASOLINE IN FUEL TANK COULD HAVE WATER IN IT PROBLEM COULD BE SOMETHING MINOR.
or you getting the right fuel pressure? check fluid filter, check pressure regulator, check spark plugs to see if they are soaking wet if they or wet take them all out and pull fuel pump relay out turn engine over and blow all gas out the plug holes. install plugs and relay and try start again , check engine compression, check coolant senor ,check cam sensor
Check to see if your fuel pump is kicking on. You should hear a buzzing sound for a second or two when you first turn the key. If you don't hear it, check your fuel pump fuse/relay or fuel reset if equipped. It could be a clogged fuel filter. You need to make sure gas is getting fuel to the engine. If it is, then you need to check for spark. It may be because of spark plugs/coils, wires, distributor, dist.cap, rotor, cam sensor, crank sensor, ecm. When you car doesn't start but cranks, there is many things that can cause that. You need to do a spark test and make sure that your getting good spark. It could be the timing belt. You need fuel and spark to start the car.
There is a fuse box under the hood with relays in it for the fuel pump and other things. they are all the same so exchange one with the fuel pump one and see if the problem persists
I would test crankshaft position sensor. If coil packs are getting power, then crank sensor should be good. If you are getting spark to all cylinders, then check to make sure you are getting fuel to all cylinders. If you are, then you most likely have a bad fuse or relay that needs to be replaced. Is the fuel pump relay ok? Fuel getting to all cylinders?
Either the fuel pump is shot, fuel pump relay is bad, or fuel filter needs to be changed. A fuel pressure test would be a good place to start. Also changing the fuel filter is cheap and good routine maintenance anyway.
