Upon acceleration my car sounds like a small engine airplane.

Could be injector timing issues. Too far retarded will give poor response and a knocking sound, a bit like the old Commer Knocker engines.

Sounds like the engine cooling fan clutch is defective. If it remains locked up the noise does sound like an airplane.

Sounds like you need new engine mounts

Check engine pulley and engine plastic covers for loose condition

Have a trained diagnostic tech listen to this noise, as you can imagine diagnosing a noise on this computer link is really impossible, you need to hear it first hand.

You may have a manifold leak. Does the engine sound like its sucking air or blowing air at an idle? If so thats your problem.

the noise is a wheel bearing , turning left to right should isolate wich side , the niose will increase on the noisy bearing side

I will need a bit more info though. Like can you give a better example of the sound and where exactly is the noise coming from. I mean the engine area or the rear of the car. It sounds like you may have a problem feeding the fuel to your engine, I had the same problem with my 89 RS. All the 1989 model's fuel systems were recalled. I think you may need a new fuel pump. The fuel pump is located inside the gas tank in the rear of the car right under the rear axle. The fuel pump itself isn't too expensive, but with other small parts such as the electrical harness upgrade and fuel filter and the labor you should be looking somewhere in the $500 range.
