Rear window on 1986 ford bronco

Our rear window doesn't roll down. The repair manual says to roll it down manually from inside the gate panel on the inside, but we've tried that and there's no way to manually roll it down, hence we can't open the gate to fix anything. What's a person to do? Thanks for your help.

Unhook the wires from the motor in the tailgate and use a battery to hook wires directly to the motor to roll window down.you will have to try wires both ways as 1 way will go up the other down if this dose not work the motor is bad. if this works the problem is either the safety switch located on the bottom of the handle or drivers side latch, a bad wire or a bad dash switch

I had the same problem with mine and I drilled out the rivets holding the motor in. Have someone hold the window up when you do this so it don't fall. after you get it drilled and you can let it down you should be able to remove the window from the track through the panel. It has been a while since i had done it but the window motor was very reasonable.... make sure you are getting power to the motor before going through all of this because you might be able to put power to it and make it roll down.

I need a free manual, to reuild a automatic transmission in a 1986 ford bronco 2 w/2.9l. and how to remove and rebuild, doing this myself. any step by step manuals for this beginner?

The info is in the factory repair manuals, we do not have them because they are copy protected by Ford. You can buy the factory manuals here used for a very reasonable price. You will need many special tools as well.

Need to know how to replace driver window in 1988 bronco. window has a side vent.

you will need to take off door panel and roll the window down. You should be able to look inside and see the tracks it rolls up and down on. disconnect from tracks and pull old window out the top of door, slide new window in and hook to tracks, should be very easy to install on such an older truck.

Rear window on my 1987 ford bronco will not work

This has several possiblilitys, it could be the switch in the dash has gone out even if it does not work with the key in the tailgate. other possible item could be the window motor or a sensor that detects if the gate is up or down. check motor wires for power when the switch is activated by pulling off the panel on the tailgate, if it is getting power i would suggest replacing the motor. if not you may have to trace wires to the drivers side of the tail gate and find the sensor.i had to by pass mine a while ago. makes it much easier to clean the glass on the inside cause the window will roll up with the gate down.

The rear window on my 1988 bronco won't roll up.

no way to do that, but u can disconnect the power wiondow regulator and block it up, but if u take it apart to do that u might as well fix the problem that is keeping it from rolling up.
