I own a 1993 Toyota Previa with 163,000 miles on it. I bought it about 2 moths ago, and noticed a rattling type noise coming from under the hood. Like the fan was cliping something, or something was lose and banging together. I didin't think it was a serious problem, but it got louder and louder every day. Now it's unbearable, and I'm worried it could be a major expense. I was hoping someone on here had the same problem, or knows if this is common. The engine seems to shake more than an engine should. When I accelurate, and brake the noise seems to stop, but at signal lights it's louder than ever. Thank's for your time. Hope to hear from someone.
More than likely it the auxillary shaft couplings
Hi I own a Toyota previa 1993 and have the same problem, my mechanic has told me after looking at the problem that it is the cyclinders, they will have to be replaced, maybe you have the same problem??
I have had this problem before, the first time it was discovered that the stand that support the hood was not properly secured in the clip slot.
The second time the grill was loose. Check these before going to the mechanic.
