If you don't know the code, and the procedure for entering it, go to the Hyundai dealer for advice.
The procedure is not listed in the Chilton manual. And, the codes are there so if the radio were stolen, the thief would not know how to get it to work.

The radio dont work ,you disconnect the battery or battery came dead. The radio ask for security code on the screen when lit

If so you had to ask the dealer for the code he will charge you he had to open an invoice to Detroit Michigan. So YOU cannot have your radio stolen. If you disconnect the battery you have to put a back up battery 9 volt thru lighter will do to keep memory to the radio

Change the battery and now my radio dont work

find the code (owner hand book radio section) or contact the dealer service centre (If factory fitted) for the code and enter it into the radio . It is an anti theft device that makes the radios useless if stolen which it reads as if you disconnect the battery.

What are radio codes?

  • It an electronic security code for the radio that avoids radios being stolen from cars because then they will not work once power to them is disconnected due to either their removal, disconnection of the car battery or a flat car battery.
  • Once the radio has lost it's power source it cannot be operated until power is reconnected and the code is punched into the radio using the radio controls. The code for each radio is different and is supplied with the car when new. If you do not have the code you need to contact the service department of the new car dealer that sells that brand of car who will likely charge you a fee to look it up for you if the records are still held.

When you disconnect your battery and then reconnect it again, it disables the radio. This is an anti-theft protection for your car radio.
The enable your radio the activation code is in your vehicle owner's manual. If you do not have this code you need to go to your Mercedes service centre and get them to enter this code for you.

Get security codes FIRST: radio and NAV.
Disconnect battery from car and wait for 30 seconds and turn on the headlight switch,DURING the battery disconnect.
Turn off the headlights and reconnect the battery.
the security system should "re-boot" and be happy.
then there is the radio issue, Get the code.....

Radio

it may have a lock code. if so, be sure that you have the code handy before doing that.
the lock code usually is gave to you in an sticker and is placed in the owners manual in the back or front.

if you disconnect the battery, you will be required for that code as well.

if you have disconnected the battery before and you had not being request a code, then ,you are fine, you dont need a code.

I cannot eject the CD from my stereo in my 2003 Mitsubishi Galant.

The radio may need to be reset. Turn the radio off and disconnect the battery for 1 min and then reconnect the battery, this should reset the radio and the CD will come eject. If the CD will still not come out, then there is a mechanical problem with the Radio and your going to have to have it repaired or replaced. Good luck and hope this helps, Note make sure the radio is off before you disconnect the battery so you will not be prompt to enter a activation code.
