What size bolt holds the water pump on a 1989 4.5 litre caddy sedan deville

Must be a TORX head bolt.A correct size torx socket should remove it.On a badly rounded screw or bolt,cutting across it with a cutoff tool will allow you to use a flat blade screwdriver to remove it.

you should have a shop evacuate system to see howmuch freon is in the system and pull a vacuum on it to make sure there are no leaks if no leaks if system was low they can recharge to proper level if u buy a recharge kit at parts store you risk blowing seals or hoses if you over charge

Hello, The fuel pump is inside the gas tank. Remove the exhaust, Disconnect and remove all hoses and lines, also disconnect all electrical wires, remove 4 bolts from straps holding tank. Drop tank down. Remove lines and hoses from top of fuel pump module, remove lock ring, pull fuel pump module, turn unit as necessary so you don't destroy the fuel level sender. Hope this helps

check the fluid level on steering reservior, if ok replace your steering pump assembly

located on front of engine above harmonic balancer sugest you have mechanic replace due to dificulty if bolts are overtightend you could end up replaceing timing cover.

Pull the relay for it. Listen for it clicking on passenger side.

If you have the 3.8 ltr you just remove the belt, then the coolant hoses and then the bolts securing the pump to the block. Note: there is one long bolt in the pump that can be removed thru the access hole in the body side rail.
If you have a 4.1 or 4.5 ltr engine, you must first remove the A/C accumulator from its bracket, remove the right cross brace and the accessory drive belt. Remove the water pump pulley to pump bolts and then the pulley and lastly the bolts securing the pump to the block.

Mine doesn't! It could be a muffler bearing or seat spring broken.

Replace the pump as it does other things than just pump air into the exhaust. I helps in cold starting and keeps the engine from backfiring during deceleration. You can cause the converter to fail also. I have a service manual and it tells you to first loosen the pulley bolts on the pump first then remove the belt and pulley. Remove inlet hose and outlet hose then the mounting bolts .

you need to take glove box out. It's right behind three three 7mm bolts for the plastic piece that holds it in. two 10 mm nuts that hold it to the plastic piece. Should come right out with a little finessed force.
