Monte carlo I have a 2001 Chevy monte carlo ss. I have never had problems with my transmission until now. When I first start it up it shifts great and accelerates great. After about 30 minutes of driving it starts to shift hard in first and second gear. It is when I come to a complete stop and then start to accelerate it shifts hard when first starting off. This only happens after about thirty minutes of driving and then if I shut off my car for a couple hours it shifts fine again for the first thirty minutes of driving. Can someone help me what the problem is???

I have the same issue with my Monte, it has over 100K miles, I'll try the cooling solution, that was my first feeling about what might be wrong. I'll let ya know.

My car has a hard time starting. When I do get it started it hesitates to stay started. When I turn the car off for about 20 minutes it won't start. I'll let it set for about an hour and a half and it will start up.
If that is the crankshaft sensor-where is it located?

You need to rebuild the transmission,it's over heating. May want to check your transmission cooler first .

My 2001 monte carlo will start but, when i shift it in forward or reverse, it will not go in forward or reverse

Front pump in the transmission is not producing fluid pressure to operate the internal parts of the transmission. Have the fluid AND the filter in the pan replaced first. If that doesn't solve the problem, then an overhaul is in order.

Hard shifting from 1st to 2nd

I have been hearing a possible solution for this problem is changing the oil filter in the trans oil pan. But ive been looking all over for a solutionand thats the only legit one ive found. It said when the oil gets clogged it doesnt flow to the transmission as nicely as normal therefore leading to lagging changes

My rpm is going crazy

Either the gauge is defective, the sensor at the distributor, or the computer module.

Could be a loose wire any where in the chain between the sensor and the gauge.
