There are tubes connected to the back of the control unit that go to door actuators. Get a cheep had vacuum pump and hook it to each actuator and see if each door opens and the diaphragms inside are not leaking if they all work replace the control unit. If the doors have broken off and are laying in the bottom of the heating unit you need to replace the whole unit under dash. On extreme 4x4 or the show trucks they had a repair kit for dodge and chevy. The doors open and close just like a cheep plastic tool box with no hinges just a piece of thin plastic that bends back and forth till it breaks. The kit comes with metal hinges and new doors

2006 Expedition overhead compass reads "N" when heading "E". Wonder how to reset it so it indicates the direction accurately.

Yes. Wish I could tell you which button for sure, but to reprogram the Compass you hold one of the buttons and drive in a circle one or two times to reacquire your position.

I have got a 2000 dodge ram 2500 cummins 4x4 that the Temperature Gage doesn't move and the Heater doesn't get very warm. I have changed the Thermostate, with no change......

Have you checked the block pressure. There was a problem with the impellor coming loose on the water pump which causes low block pressure and reduces circulation. You should also check the vent line to the rad and make sure the jiggle pin in there is ok it sounds like the system may be air locking

The heater on my A6 1.8 petrol doesnt get warm just constantly blowing cold air,I've bled the cooling system recently had a new water pump and thermostat fitted and still no heat. the heater control unit...

There is a heater core valve on vehicles that have a dual zone, ( climate control ) systems. The valve is in the area of the heater core.

Something to try. allow the engine to run for 6 to 8 minutes with the heater wide open, then, turn the engine off and reach back and feel the 2 hoses at the firewall that lead to the heater core. If only 1 is hot you do have some blockage, if both are hot then it is circulating properly and your problem lies somewhere else.

Dual zone systems also have a split door between the heater core and a/c evaporator that often stops functioning properly and it can block the hot air comming from the core.

1996 Geo Prizm no heat even after warming up. Changed Thermostat, still no heat. Any ideas?? Thanks.

It sounds like the flow control block. Vacuum or electronically controlled this device changes directions of the bypass line to the heater line if not **** bypassed. Assuming you have owned this vehicle when the heat operated-properly. I will say it is a simple fix of the flow control block on the heater hose. Auto zone will help you with the rest.
