1990 mirage engine 4g61 auto: the problem is check engine come out sometime and the auto gear will in bad condition.(not smooth) when check engine disappear, everythings will ok. we try change gear box,ecu (both engine and auto,sensor) the problem remain. also this early morning,check engine sometime come out in while. will it wiring and gear lever problem?

I dont know about the mirage but 9 out of 10 cars all you have to do is unplug your battery for at least 5-15 minutes and then re plug in and start car. your check engine light/ecu should be reset now. Good Luck and God Bless. Hope this helps. Take care. 16

Does idle rough in gear if so may have bad fuel injectors. not saying that it is not transmission or joints, need to make sure the engine is running properly first.

Automatic transmission not shifting gears

Check the level and condition of the transmission fluid and if necessary the transmission fluid. Check the condition of the gears within the transmission (cracked, damaged) and change the gear cluster if necessary.

1989 dodge dynasty v6, fwd, transaxle 3 speed auto, good condition, experiencing shift problem, doesnot want to shift into passing gear, sometimes it does, right now it doesn't, any takers

most auto trans don't shift into reverse when low. Reverse takes the most fluid of all the gears.
Check for a bad shift solenoid or wires to and from that circuit. Most trans-axles have them now.

The sounds like the cluch went bad. the smell and the reason you cant shift gears is due to the clutch. the clutch is burning and thats the smell, when the clutch gets low and slips it smells and sometimes it just blows apart due to wear. have the clutch checked and you will find it needs replacing. hope this is helpful have a good day.

have vehicle scanned for codes auto stores such as auto zone /advanced auto do it for free this gives u a starting point as for ur question about 25 different sensors there are about 60+ different codes and anything from bumper to bumper can set off check engine

you have a sensor acting up on your motor have the code read at any shop for about $25 and they will tell you exactly what sensor is going out and needs to be replaced
