No. For some engine work, it is easier & less time consuming to raise the body off the chassis. But for a coolant leak, it shouldn't be necessary. First you need to pinpoint where the leak is. Borrow or rent a pressure tester from advance or AZ to check for the leak. These vehicles are bad for the heater hose & fittings leaking on the passenger side of the engine near the firewall. Some special tools are needed to release the hose from the heater core tubes. Another common problem is the intake gaskets, but you should be able to see that with a mirror & flashlight.
if the issue is just with the one mirror, it probably needs the mirror replaced. check for power and ground to the mirror, if they are good, you better look for a new mirror. get ready for the price though, and if your mirror is body colored, it will need to be painted too.
Hi there... well usually this happens, when the valve in the dash-board is defective. you can't replace it your self. its not costly, but the mechanic needs to dig in deep to reach it in most cars. i don't know where exactly it is loacated in the Navigator. but dont listen to any body telling to replace anything but this small in dash valve .
good luck i wish this helps u in anyway. have a nice day
