My 1999 Ford explorer XLT starts fine and then wont start though it turns over. every few days it wont start? any suggestions

i've found a few references on how to by pass this but if you follow this link to the ford explorer forum you will get better info and advice from fellow explorer owners/mechanics who know the vehicle from top to bottom

2004 Ford Explorer XLT, Service Engine light came on the other day and car started running real rough. Used a code reader which says misfire in Cyl 6. Changed plugs and wires to no avail. Any suggestions

Change the coil pack these coils crack underneath and will cause a miss

HOW ABOUT THE FUEL PUMP? ALSO THE FUEL RAIL COULD BE AT FAULT OR THE INJECTORS. YOU NEED TO HAVE A DEALER TEST THE ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM

I have put everything new in this ford explorer xlt. it floods out and wont start until new plugs are put in. and gas gets in the oil. so i have to change oil and plugs every few days. can you help please...

I would check the fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail.

sounds like a wiring issue. I'd start by checking the wires around the radio and see if they are chaffed or broken.
