When the PASS-Key® III system senses that someone is using the wrong key, it shuts down the vehicle's starter and fuel systems.
I suggest check in this link the 2007 SAAB 9-7X - Owners Manual, section THEFT and PASSLOCK SYSTEMS (page 90 and next).

Hi! Please remove the positive battery connector and let it sit for atleast 30mins. to reset the system. After 30mins. reconnect the positive battery connector then turn it on. Sometimes the computer needs to relearn itself. HOpe this helps and thank you for using FIxYa!

no there is nothing in the manual regarding releasing the key from the ignition.
please read my problem i can start the car if the fuel system was blocked the car should not start . the car starts i can drive the car but the keys are stuck in the ignition and all the power accessories are not working including power doors , radio, seats etc. and no one was using the wrong keys the sabb keys were used the one which came with the car and being used always.
