Running rough have a 93 mx6 2.5ltr it starts and runs fine when cold. is a manual and can shift up and down through all gears and runs fine when cold, however when it warms up and the engine is put under load it seems to starve for fuel and dramatically looses power, backfires and looses speed. Is particularly bad if pulling in third or above. Mazda have had two goes at it...any ideas? Adrian

Dear Wiz, sorry failed to tell you that a new pump was fitted in Jan 08 the filter was changes 2000km ago, and the tank removed and cleaned out however the problem wont leave me. could it be a timing sensor (knock), o2 sensor or the thermostat sensor. Have given up on Mazda a $2200 experience with no luck. I would like to take it to someone else but would i take it to a fuel injection specialist or who im not sure.

ok adrian i'm not sure if violates the policy here for giving you my name but i'm fernando i'm not sure in what state or city are you at to see if i can refer you to some buddy but yes you have to go to a fuel injection specialist look at the yellow book or yellow pages and look for a fuel injection shop make sure to ask for the old parts if they replace any thing tell them before any repairs than you want your old parts back since the's your right and that way they will not try to rip you like the dealer did because on a problem like the one you have the most a customer will spend with me will be like 1000 and i'm goin to the extreme i have a lot of experienece on electrical and fuel injection unfortunatelly some times with out doing any test to your car can't play the siquick way, but will try to advise you the best i can'y i hope and i been helpfull for you and good luck

one more thing unplug the 02 sensors specially the front and leave it unplug if the car does any beter then the 02 sensor is not good but if not then let the shop know than you did unplug it because your computer will create a code for 02 sensor and might turn the light on, that way they don't try to sell you a good 02 sensor

Do you mean start the car in drive? if so that problem is inhibitor switch. Other shift problems can be caused by TPS (throttle posistion sensor) if applicable

97 cavalier starts and runs ok from a cold start after a few minutes of warm up it starts to run rough and miss. If i try to drive it it will start out ok but won't shift automaticly but shifts fine m

Sounds like possibly more than on problem, crankshaft position sensor, or ignition module likely on starting prob which maybe affecting shifting due to hard code in ecm, or shift prob could be shift solenoid in valve body of transmission. Both parts readily available from local parts store

Inconsistant transmission problems on 2003 jeep gcl

Many times this is caused by either a sticking electronic shift solenoid in the transmission or the trans fluid and filter need to be replaced, has the trans been serviced, it should have been done at 60,000 miles.
