2001 chevy tahoe. - it has been having trouble starting, usually will start on 2nd or 3rd try. I changed plugs and wires and it did not solve the problem. And now my engine light has come on with a P0300 code. could it be a vacuum leak?
your ignition switch will not throw a misfire code, possible causes:1. defective coil(s)2. vac leak, 3. defective intake gasket. 4. weak or broken valve spring,5.stretched timing chain. there are many more but this is a good place to start.your ignition switch will not throw a misfire code, possible causes:1. defective coil(s)2. vac leak, 3. defective intake gasket. 4. weak or broken valve spring,5.stretched timing chain. there are many more but this is a good place to start.

Loose battery cable at the starter end, or sensor trouble, tighten cables, see if this helps, usually does, I get 50.00 per hour to check this, I render this 4 free 2 u.

I had this problem, and to be honest, it happened to the left side about a week later...it's the board that the bulbs plug into...it's a very common problem with this model. So popular that you can normally get the socket board off the shelf at a parts store! it's extremely simple to replace, and I replaced all the bulbs at the same time!
there is no drain you just drop the trans pan. if there is too much fluid most oil change places have a vaccula that will pull fluid from the dipstick tube
On that trans is a 20 way connector. There is a red wire that should have 12 volts with the ignition switch on. Test it with a test light. With all these issues at one time you may have lost 1 leg on the ignition switch. Check your fuses in the dash and under hood with the ignition on. Be sure all the ones that should be hot are. Good Luck
could be as simple as a dirty fuel filter. or maybe the fuel pump has died..i will go with the fuel filter since you were able to get it started again.. also when replacing your fuel filter you should go ahead and get new plugs and wires.. a small tune up wouldnt hurt and would only set you back 100.00 dollers maybe.. hope this helps
