Yes,there is a special wrench that fits the water pump. You have to loosen bolts on pump and put wrench on pump and turn pump to get belt on. Then tighten pump till marks line up on tensioner, then tighten the pump back down. Be sure to roll the engine around twice and recheck timing marks on crank and cams.

I have a 1998 volkwagon beetle 2.0 that needs a water pump so i buy the water pump install it put everything back together and put water inside then it just spilled out. tried to start it and now the

you should did your home work before removed old water pump most vw engines water pump is part of the timing belt assembly so when time to replace around 80k miles you should order complete timing belt kit which includes water pump with it.
so after you finish up if you didnt try to hard to run engine you may or may not damage any piece from your valve train!!even with all proper parts you have on your hand you still need high cost speciality tools to complete timing belt replacement on that engine recommendetion is tow your vehicle to mechanic shop and let them do it for you it will save you time and money!

Need to replace waterpump

Your Malibu is equipped with probably the EASIEST water pump in the word to change.

Drain the cooling system.
Loosen the water pump pulley bolts.
Remove the drive belt.
Remove the water pump pulley bolts and pulley.
Remove the water pump bolts, pump and gasket.
Clean the water pump mating surfaces.
Install the water pump and reassemble in reverse order

Hint: The O-ring that seals the water pump is much easier to install if you use a little dielectric grease to "stick" it to the water pump before installing. This O-ring needs to expand and contract and move freely in the water pump groove due to extreme changes in engine temperature. The dielectric grease will actually help accomplish this. DO NOT use RTV silicone to "glue" the O-ring.

Where is the water pump on a Ford KJ Laser?

The water pump on the 92 Laser is easily replaced. You just need to untension the the belt driving the bump. Once you have done that all you need to do is undo the bolts and take the pump into your local auto parts dealer. Now that you have the pump install it and retension the belt.

U actually have to remove alternator belt and powersteering/a/c belts, then remove timing belt cover, remove timing belt adjuster, and slide timing belt off top pulley, making sure you mark it before removing it, so as to put it back in same position. Next, unbolt 2 bolts at bottom of water pump (this is a bit fiddly, but doable, then, undo water pump, replace with new water pump, being sure to use gasket cement, aswell as new gasket, which should be supplied with pump, then put it all back together, in reverse order of removal. Fill cooling system, check for leaks, and voila, u have done it :)

Timing belt tensionor

If your replacing the timing belt you should also be replacing the water pump. Just easier to replace both at the same time. The timing belt tensioner is part of the water pump case. Go to the auto parts store and ask to see a water pump for your engine. New ones come with the tensioner installed. Rebuilt pumps usually have to have one installed. Check out ebay item 220332480595. Nice photo of what you need to know. Good luck.
