I have a 97 dodge grand caravan that has a cooling fan problem. I have replaced the fans, radiator, col temp sens, fan relay, fuses and the fan still does not come on. i did notice the previous owner cut into the fans power wire and ran it to the radio fuse under the dash. I disconected that and reconnected stock wiring now my ? is do i need to flash my cpu for the fans to engage?

Make sure the fans are well grounded. You can temporarily jump 12 volts from the battery to the fans in order to check if they work. The new relay also could have been compromised if the wiring was incorrect before.

Radiator fan will not turn off ever.

the usual culprit is a bad relay. Some cars have 2 or 3 cooling fsan relays, usually under the hood in a fuse/relay box. Look in owner manual for fuse/relay locations and pull the cooling fan relays one at a time & see if it cuts off. That could be the bad one. The engine computer usually controls the fan motor based on input from the coolabnt temp sensor or by when you have the heater controls set on a/c or defrost modes.

97 dodge cooling fans stoped working

If you have checked the relay module under the fans,on drivers side, and they are fine, replace the coolant sensor, and make sure all the air is bled out of the cooling system.

Electric cooling fans will work.

The fans are actuated by coolant temp in the radiator. It is possible to have overheated coolant in the radiator, causing the steam, and your engine not overheating...the temp sensor for your engine is reflecting the engine temp, not the temp of the coolant in the radiator. You problem could be a bad temp sensor at the radiator...not allowing the fans to come on. Good Luck! I hope you find this to be very helpful!

The radiator fan is not working in my 1999 Dodge Grand Caravan...it´s 3.3l engine.

First is your engine getting up to temp? if not check for a stuck open thermostat. Second with engine up to temp (where fan kicks on) check for voltage at the fan, If 12vdc present replace fan, If 0vdc present check fuses and relays.

I replaced my radiator cooling fan motors both of them on my Dodge Grand Caravan and i replaced the relay and fuse and coolant temparature sensor and my fans still won't work.

check for battery power at pin 4 of rad fan relay connector..ground at pin 1..jump pins 3 and 4..fans should work..if not, check harness about 3-4 inches away from relay connector..have seen these corrode..if fans work, the engine controller may not be grounding relay..any codes in engine controller?engine light on?
