Look at the 8th digit on the vin #
3 = Duel
P = Single

It could be either. The way that you can tell is to open the hood and look at the engine. If it is a dual overhead cam it will say 16 valve or Dual overhead cam. If not then it is just a single.

How can you determine what engine you have in a 2000 ford focus zx2
If this is a US market vehicle then it can have the 2.0 liter Dual overhead cam 4 cylinder engine or a 2.0 liter Single overhead cam 4 cylinder engine. The DOHC engine will have the spark plugs running in a line down the center of the valve cover. The SOHC engine will have the spark plugs off to the side of engine closer to the radiator.

Yes, the relay or the fan itself. You have to let the car get hot to test. Please tell me--do you have the ZETEC engine or not? Single overhead cam or dual overhead cam? Also, do you have A/C or not. I will send you the wiring diagram and some troubleshooting steps.

Where do I look to find out if my 2000 ford focus LX is a single overhead cam or a double overhead cam
if it says split port 2.0 on the top of the engine, it is a single cam. anything else like zetec or duratec is a double.

lol, I never knew they made a sohc focus, 99% of these are zetecs DOHC. so they have the spark plugs down the middle of the cyliderhead.

2.0L SOHC (single overhead cam) AGSF34EE plugs gap 0.054
2.0L DOHC (dual overhead cam) AZFS32FE plugs gap 0.050

The plug numbers are the motordraft numbers

Timming belt replacement Ford 2001 dual cam
You have to leave all of the slack at the tensioner. Get the timing marks lined up on both of the cams and the crank. With the slack left at the tensioner, release the tensioner. It is okay if the marks move a little after this. Manually turn the engine crankshaft twice and then MAKE SURE THE MARKS LINE UP! If they do after two revolutions of the engine, you are good to go. This applies wether or not you are at DTC or not! Remember that!
