How do you remove the headlight assembly on a 05 Pontiac G6 GT to replace headlight bulb? When unlocking car, the bulb works, but when starting or putting car in drive light goes off. Is the bulb the problem or is it something different causing problem?

you have to remove the tabs holding the top of the bumper, pull the bumper up and take the whole assembly out to get to the bulbs. yep it sucks.

Which ever side you are looking to change, you will find an 8 to 10mm bolt. Once you remove that bolt located near the headlight housing, you lift up on the bar that you just took the bolt off of, then once you have the bar up, gently pull out the headlight housing starting from the inside pulling straight out, thats it. Remove the bulb, and replace in reverse order.

The headlight assembly must come out (it's part of that unit)
The assembly is removed by removing the three fasteners on top and then gently but firmly pulling the assembly straight out (forward)
You'll see the harness for your blinker in there

To replace the headlight bulbs.You need to remove the head light assembly out.The head light assembly is held by 2 to 3 three screws on each side. You need to remove those screws first.The front trim will get loose,the front trim is held by pins.The pins are of plastic and easy to release.Just release this pins and the front trim will get completely loose and can be easily taken off/. The head light assembly is in the front fender.Once the front trim is removed the head light assembly can be easily removed from front fender compartment.If its bit tight there,then you can use a screwdriver to give it a pull towards out.The head light bulbs can now be easily seen as well as easily removed now.Turn the bulb socket counterclockwise to remove the bulb from the bulb assembly. -------- Keep updated for any more queries.Thanks.

remove headlight assembly (remove top three fasteners and pull assemble straight forward (firmly) unhook harness do not touch glass of replacement bulb

Check the wiring on the headlight. You may have a damaged wire or bad ground.

There are 2 white retainer clips behind the headlight. Pull these up and out and remove the lamp. Light bulbs are twist and turn pull out and replace without touching the bulb. Open the end that plugs in and use the plastic bulb came in to hold and push in. Replace lamp the same way removed. Place headlight in mount panel and put retainers over the h/l tabs and push down. Do this carefully these are plastic and break east and are about 4.50 each. Thanks

Upside down L shaped bracket that is bolted to frame just behind headlight assy. Unbolt bracket, lift bracket straight up to unlock headlight assy. Headlight assy should easlier fall forward to replace any of the 3 bulbs

its probally a haligen bulb needs replaced from the inside under the hood that twists in the back of the light just half a turn the unplug old and put in new

remove head light assembly, replace bulb and re-install
