The Check Engine Indicator of my 1994 Honda ESI (orange light looking like a faucet) lights up when he ignition is on, but does not turn-off and the car engine won't start anymore. How do you reset oil service light Honda Pilot. From years: 2003, 2004, 2005.

1. Turn off the engine. Press and hold the SELECT/RESET button in the instrument panel and turn the ignition switch to run (one position before starting).
2. Hold the button for at least 10 seconds, until the indicator resets.
3. Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.

Resetting the Engine Oil Life Display if maintenance service is done by someone other than your dealer, reset the maintenance minder as
follows:

1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON (II) position.
2. Press the select/reset knob repeatedly until the engine oil life is displayed.
3. Press the select/reset knob for about 10 seconds. The engine oil life and the maintenance item code(s) will blink.
4. Press the select/reset knob for another 5 seconds. The maintenance item code(s) will disappear, and the engine oil life will reset to 100.

code 15 is ignition output signal, an electrical problem. The engine computer sees no spark signals coming from the igniter. This is a good job for a Honda mechanic who isn't afraid of electronics.

If the car shuts down after the service engine lights on, possible problem is the igniter on your ignition coil. You have to replace the igniter. I had the same problem before with my esi 93 and honda car shop fixed it by replacing the said part. It is better to have the code scanned first. If it gives you 1 long flash followed by 5 short flashes, definitely it is the igniter.

It is either a check engine light due to a engine sensor fault or a service due indicator. The service due indicator will light after the required mileage or months have passed since last service, the garage will reset the light after servicing.

that would be your check engine light... stop by your local autozone and ask them to scan the codes (free) and they should be able to tell you what they are... post them here when you find out

When the car is near 12,000km since the last service,the indicator will turn yellow,if it exeeds 12,000km it will turn red.
To clear it switch the ignition on.
Reset service indicator by inserting key or another similar object of the same size into the slot below the indicator.
The service lamp will cancel the indicator for the next 12,000km.
