Auto parts stores or salvage yards can get this for you around $100 average, so make sure that this is what you need. Most are located on fender wells of engine compartment, trace middle or "coil" wire from distributor cap to it. Some vehicles have multiple igniters feeding one or two plugs each. ( example: Some Volvos have one on the end of each spark plug). 2 to 4 wires on it usually in a plastic connector and spark plug wire to cap (or plug)

2000 dodge Durango need to hot wire can't afford key and my keys are 2counties away never hot wired anything have no idea help

Battery lead red (hot wire) to black continuous at ignition. Touch starter lead from ignition to hot wire.
You will need to cut both starter and continuous wires from the ignition loom. Your hot wire can come from your radio, battery, or anything that has direct current.

Blowing black smoke

far too much fuel not getting completely burned upon iginition.
That leads on to look at:
-fouled fuel injectors, (clean them - run injector cleaner)
-lack of air to the intake (filter and clear out tubing),
-spark plugs are fouled, (replace them, ensure wires seated correctly on plug)
-ignition power is low or partial, (ignition system module not sending enough electricity to plugs)
-ignition wires are bad, (check/replace)
-ECM is failing or getting bad sensor readings. (shop diagnosis)
-cat convertors have been removed and sensors are at fault
Its a long list -- do the easy stuff yourself, leave hard stuff to a shop diagnosis.

1993 nissan pathfinder 3.0 v6

Start with someone who can follow a wiring diagram and an ignition system troubleshooting/diagnostic procedure. Lot of fancy stuff on a Nissan ignition system, but wonderful when they work right. I own an '87 Sentra without a lot of fancy ignition stuff, but have had to take out a one month subscription to Mitchell 1's online DIY auto repair site ($16.99), to find information that actually applies to my car and its somewhat primitive ECU. A Chilton repair manual was totally useless, bogus information. Now I've almost got it running right, but only ten days left on my subscription! They have annual rates, too, at I think, $26.99.

When I insert the key into the ignition it wont turn (seems stuck). wondering what i need to do to solve this problem

Hello, you'll need a new ignition switch. You much have a lot of stuff hand off your key chain, yes or no. The more stuff hanging on the key chain more weight is inserted on the locking pins and spring in the tumbler of the ignition lock. It will finally get were one can start their vehicle.

If you can still start this Chrylser then remove all the keys and stuff that not necessary. Maybe, ignition key, trunk key, house key, gas key and post office key. The rest of the stuff put on another key chain. No more than 5 or 6 keys and no junk; such as, flash light, rabbit foot, charms, thing-a-gig, whata-you-call-it, a do-hicky, the knife that never been open, pepper spray. and whay ever else is hanging on the key chain. I have an 87 ss monte and the previous oner had the whole msd 6al system on it and took it off befor i got it and now im left wondering why it has voltage to the alternater and starter but no power to...

Sounds as if the Alarm was Disconnected and the Original wires were NOT PROPERLY Spliced back together, and the Wires you speak of, I would NOT TRUST Unless you can Determine that they are ORIGINAL to the Vehicle, You Must Hunt DOWN ALL ORIGINAL WIRING FOR THE IGNITION. Purple, RED PINK, YELLOW, ORANGE, Are the COLORS for the IGNITION thesr are all the MAIN Wires that Supply POWER for ALL KEY ON Components, and the PURPLE is the START TRIGGER Wire to the STARTER. rejakwilson @aol.comfor IN DEPTH Info on this, and Please EXPLAIN what you DO Have, where they are located,ETC. Hope this Helps you.!!
