1996 chevy s10 pickup brand new motor new everything but wont start thought it was a timing problem..fixed it wondering what it could be? Maybe something with the distributor but not sure where to find a correct diagram for my engine its a vin number x. Put a new battery in but battery light still comes on could it be a ground?

Kelly, could be a few issues, security lock out, crank sensor, fuel pump fuse/relay, faulty new pump,faulty ignition switch, etc. Attached links may help you diagnose the crank no start issue you are having.

Sounds like ur cold start fuel injector went bad

No. A knocking sound is not normal in any gasoilne engine.

It is possible you have air bubbles in the cooling system. Loosen radiator cap or resivor cap and let idle for about 15 minutes. Tighten cap and drive and see if that helps. REMEMBER TO START THIS PROCEDURE WITH A COOL MOTOR AS THINGS WILL BE QUITE DANGEROUS DUE TO COOLING SYSTEM PRESSURE WHEN HOT.

Replace the wiper motor,it has the cut off built in to the unit itself.

sounds like ignition module inside of distributor cap under distributor rotor button.these do go bad and can easily be replaced.strong suspicion from your details that this is the culprit.

Another name for it is throttle position sensor. It is usually on the side of the throttle body, usually black in color, has a 2 wire connection, attached with 2 screws. Needs replacing.
