Hi, ok you might have changed the firing-order from the distributor cap to the sparkplugs.

like to help....but will need to know exactly what work has been carried out on the vehicle, are the plugs gapped correctly?, do these checks, also check for fuel starvation or flooding of fuel, this can be checked by remove the top cover from the carburettor and if you cannot smell fuel, then while cranking choke the carb by covering it by hand and if it sounds like it wants to start carry on with this procedure. remember to give the startermotor a break now and then otherwise you can damage it.

My olds 1992 88 stopped running. changed the fuel filter and drained all of the old fuel (which wasuper rusty and contaminated). the car seems to want to start now but wont. i have been told to change the...

have you got a good spark- take out a plug and lay it plugged into the lead on top of the engine so the tip is earthed (touching the engine) and crank it over - DO NOT TOUCH THE PLUG WHILST CRANKING AS IT GENERATES MASSIVE ELECTRICAL VOLTAGE..............
if it sparks its probably a fuel problem still and not ignition/electrical.

1988 firebird formula 5.0 tpi car just died replaced feul pump, relay, fuse checked wiring changed module, coil pump wont turn on unless direct power car still wont start help please out of ideas

It sounds like you may have burned out your fusable link. It's a special wire that comes off the starter solennoid and is designed to burn off in the event of an overload. DO NOT REPLACE IT WITH REGULAR WIRE, THIS IS A LEADING CAUSE OF CAR FIRES.
You will want to check for what caused the overload condition that caused the fusable link to burn out in the first place.

Is it possible, to change a wiring harness on a 94 olds delta 88 royale. it seems that where it goes thru the firewall theres no clip for it. all the wires enter the firewall and go to different places....

well, the harness isnt melted, it just had grease on it. I found a spark plug wire that was broken and it was grounding out on the block. i changed the wires and the plugs in case one of them were fowled. But now shaking went away and now it only does it when im at a steady speed and i ease in to the pedal to increase my speed. Now im stuck again, anyone?? thanks

I have 94 T-bird with 4.6 v8, engine wont run, changed plugs, wires, good fuel pressure, injector pulse, good fire, no obvious vacuum leaks. Spins over good, starts, but wont run. Any idea what to try...

All I can think of is to check the compression. Did you replace the plugs and wires because it wouldn't run? Does it even try? Does it cough and sput?

Wiring

Check the wiring diagram and ignition timing diagrams found in the 83-88 T-Bird/Cougar Haynes manual.
