What is the EVAP code?

The O2 are not ready because it takes some time for them to complete there self check after clearing trouble codes. This will involve a few drive cycles. Once the evap problem has been resoled, the check engine light cleared, you'll have to drive it for a couple of days to get everything in the "ready" status.

To perform an OBDII Driving cycle do the following:

    1. Cold Start
In order to be classified as a cold start the engine coolant temperature must be below 50ºC (122ºF) and within 6ºC (11ºF) of the ambient air temperature at startup. Do not leave the key on prior to the cold start or the heated oxygen sensor diagnostic may not run.

    2. Idle
The engine must be run for two and a half minutes with the air conditioner on maximum and rear defroster on. The more electrical load you can apply the better. This will test the O2 heater, Passive Air, Purge "No Flow", Misfire and if closed loop is achieved, Fuel Trim.

    3. Accelerate
Turn off the air conditioner and all the other loads and apply half throttle until 88km/hr (55mph) is reached. During this time the Misfire, Fuel Trim, and Purge Flow diagnostics will be performed.

    4. Hold Steady Speed
Hold a steady speed of 88km/hr (55mph) for 3 minutes. During this time the O2 response, air Intrusive, EGR, Purge, Misfire, and Fuel Trim diagnostics will be performed.

    5. Decelerate
Let off the accelerator pedal. Do not shift, touch the brake or clutch. It is important to let the vehicle coast along gradually slowing down to 32km/hr (20 mph). During this time the EGR, Purge and Fuel Trim diagnostics will be performed.

    6. Accelerate
Accelerate at 3/4 throttle until 88-96 km/hr (55-60mph). This will perform the same diagnostics as in step 3.

    7. Hold Steady Speed
Hold a steady speed of 88km/hr (55mph) for five minutes. During this time, in addition to the diagnostics performed in step 4, the catalyst monitor diagnostics will be performed. If the catalyst is marginal or the battery has been disconnected, it may take 5 complete driving cycles to determine the state of the catalyst.

    8. Decelerate
This will perform the same diagnostics as in step 5. Again, don't press the clutch or brakes or shift gears.

No no it wasn't because of the O2 sensor that it didn't pass it was a couple of things that came up and the we're Catalyst not ready Monitor Evap not ready Monitor O2 not readyz

You have 8 I/M or Emission Monitors that have to run clear
BEFORE you can go to inspection

Your Catalyst Efficiency comes from the switching comparison
of the front & rear oxygen sensors being out of range

Until you resolve the rear O2 Sensor Heater Issue you won't
know if the cat is good or you have other problems

You need professional scan tool software & a long road test
to even find a problem, then component test, which apparently
wasn't done when they hung the new rear sensor on based on a code

I tried to get a sticker and failed because it stated that 2 (02)sensors, catalyst and evap were not ready on my 2001 saturn sw2. How do I fix this? I have been over 300 miles and have failed twice.w

It is not something you fix, the system self tests after any time the battery is disconnected or the system reset with a scanner tool. Drive it until it clears, take about 20 miles of mixed driving, idle time, freeway, moderate speeds like in town. Gas tank must be at least 3/4 full for the test to complete. This is known as an OBD2 drive cycle. If you had a check engine light and it comes on again then you did not fix the problem.

How to fix 2000 year saturn for trouble code p0160 model

This code means:

P0160 - O2 Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected (Bank 2 Sensor 2)

In most cases the sensor is bad and needs to be replaced. I would try this first since it's the cheapest and easiest route.

My car wont pass inspection due to o2 sensor and cataylst not ready.....what can i do???

Are you having a check engine light. Usually if the 02 sensor is bad it will give you a check engine light. The car won't pass until this is fixed. The cat could be bad such as stopping up or not venting the emissions like it should. Remember getting behind an old car that smells of straight gas, well this is where the cat comes in to prevent that and other emissions that where not recirculated into the air. The 02 sensor can easily be replaced by you with an aftermarket. here is a link that may help you understand better than words. http://auto.howstuffworks.com/catalytic-converter2.htm

1996 volvo 960 inspection

If you are in Texas, that car is EXEMPT from emissions. The Volvo onboard OBC II computer does NOT communicate with the machines that test for emissions. It will NEVER pass. You can spend thousands on that car and it will never pass due to the computer issue.

2001 cannot pass TX inspection

This Usually means that the Catalytic Converter is Bad and needs to be Replaced as the O2 Sensor is On the Exhaust System and the Evap is Detecting High o2 Levels. Please Rate My Response! Thanks!
