When running a 4WD vehicle you need to make sure the tires are covering the same amount of ground per revolution. Different diameter tires will cause a problem and bind the driveline when on solid ground. It can damage transfer cases. As well as: axles, U-joints, drive shafts, wear tir tread faster, and even transmission damage can result. Run the same size tires if the vehicle will be engaged in 4WD.
Good Evening, unfortunately two different tire sizes will change the amount of time it takes to turn one full circle on the rear end or front end proportionally and cause a bind on the transfer case and make the vehicle seem like it is working against itself. I would seriously not recommend anything other than 4 of the same size tires all around. Sometimes it can even happen with putting brand new tires on and having old ones on either the front or back. Hope this answers your question.
Yes...
The tire sizes are important on any 4X4 vehicle... IF you engage the 4X4 ... or is you have an AWD vehicle...
If the tires are different sizes , front and rear... then the front and rear axles will turn at different speeds... not in sync with the gearing of the transfer case.
Unless this vehicle is being driven on snow , ice or mud.... while in 4x4 mode... this is very bad.... for axles and transfer case...
