does the sound go up when you trottle up?
put each wheel off the ground,put your left hand between the spring,
turn the wheel.when the bearing is bad you feel it in your left hand the trembling from that bearing.try each wheell.see iff any rubber off the excaust is good..

Am sorry to inform you the advise your getting about a cv joint is wrong as the is200 is rear wheel drive it dont have them

Did you check the fluid level in the rear end?

Have the rear brakes inspected. These are real easy to change if they need to be. You need to look under the car just outside the differential. This is an inboard brake system so the wheels don't need to be removed.

You should have the drive axles checked. Also Wheel bearings. Are there any vibrations or pulling?
