For maximum performance, at a premium price, you can use NGK Iridium # 4469 (LFR5AIX-11).

For longest life, with a bit less performance, at a premium price, you can use NGK Iridium # 6240 (PLFR5A-11).

The best value in plugs for this motor is Autolite Iridium # XP5325. It costs about 30% less than the NGK equivalent, and runs just as good.

These plugs come pre-gapped at .044" (1.1mm) which is the right gap for this motor.

Where is engine oil drain plug om holden viva

Hi Steven engine oil drain plug will be on the lower most part of the sump. It will be either a bolt type plug which you undo with a spanner or it will be a flat type plug which has a thickness of a coin. If its this type there will be a small hole in the centre and a Torx bit will be needed to undo this plug. This Torx plug be very careful when undoing it do not let it slip around in the hole. Make sure you have the right size bit DO NOT use a size smaller. It has to be a tight fit. Support the socket in the hole with the palm of your hand with pressure whilst turning the bar (preferable) 12 inch or slightly longer or ratchet attached to the Torx bit. anti clockwise to undo clockwise to tighten. There will be a sealing washer on the bolt type and a rubber o ring on the coin type these have to be replaced on refitting. I advise the coin type you fit a new plug as well, as the grip for the Torx plug tends to wear. If for any reason you feel this Torx socket starts to slip stop at this point (this is common). Book into Holden's as care and experience is going to be needed to remove it with as little damage as possible. Good luck

Do you just pull on the spark plug wires to get them off the spark plug?I seem to be having a tough time removing them. Help.

some cars have ht leads and others have the ignition coil directly on the plug.
the ht lead type should just pull off, ignition coils type need to be unbolted. if it look just like a rubber cover over the plug it is ht type.
Hope this helps

Where are the freeze plugs located on 1994 Ford Taurus?

For the vehicles covered by this information, one of two types of freeze plugs may be used: a cup-type plug or an expansion-type plug. They are removed in the same way, however two different kinds of tools are used to install them. REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Drain the cooling system.
  2. Remove the necessary components to gain access to the freeze plug.
  3. As required, raise and support the vehicle safely.
  4. Drill a 1 / 2 in. (12.7mm) hole in the center of the plug, then remove the plug using a Universal Impact Slide Hammer T59L-100-B or equivalent. Inspect the plug bore for damage that might interfere with the proper sealing of the plug. If the bore is damaged, you will have to bore the surface to accommodate the next specified oversize plug.
Oversize plugs are identified by the "OS'' stamped in the flat on the cup side of the plug.

To install:
  1. Lightly coat the plug and/or bore with an oil resistant Stud and Bearing Mount E0AZ-19554-BA or Threadlock 262 E2FZ-19554-B or equivalent.
  2. Cup type core plugs are installed with the flanged edge outward. The maximum diameter of this plug is located at the outer edge of the flange. The flange on cup type plugs flares outward with the largest diameter at the outer sealing edge.
  3. Expansion type core plugs are installed with the flanged edge inward. The maximum diameter of this plug is located at the base of the flange with the flange flaring inward.
  4. For the cup-type plug, it is important to push or drive the plug into the machined bore by using the proper tool. Never drive the plug using a tool that contacts the crowned part of the plug. Damage to the plug and/or plug bore may result. When installed, the trailing (maximum) diameter must be below the the chamfered edge of the bore to effectively seal the plugged bore.

  1. For the expansion-type plug, it is important to pull the plug into the machined bore by using a properly designed tool. Never drive the plug into the bore using a tool that contacts the flange. Leakage and/or plug blowout will result. the flanged (trailing) edge must be below the chamfered edge of the bore to effectively seal the plugged bore.

Fig. 2: Use the proper installation tool when installing an expansion-type plug

  1. Install all the removed components. Lower the vehicle, as required.
  2. Fill the cooling system and check for leaks.

Hope helps.

After changing my sparkplugs my car doesnt want to go

You may need to find out what type of plug your car requires. Certain cars need the factory type plug back in them. If you went with a chep version then your car may not perform as well. I think yours takes the fine tipped type of ac delco brand plugs. Start there.

Cant find the towbar electrics plugs for x-type

I assume that the towbar didn't come with a proper wiring kit as, unfortunately there is not a specific connector for the towbar wiring on the x-type, the proper Vehicle Specific Kit plugs into the rear light. There is a power connector with three pins on the left and a grey reverse sensor cut out connector also on the left. but you will either need to use a Vehicle Specific Wiring kit (about £175) or use a bypass relay system.
