DTC P0442 : Evaporative Emission (EVAP) System Small Leak Detected
code p0442 refers to evaporative emission system(EVAP)--small leak detected==causes-- hose connections,--intake leak--EVAP canister--EVAP canister purge valve
it also refers to large leak detected ( loose fuel cap/missing cap) causes--mechanical fault--hose connections---EVAP pressure sensor
If it has just started then check that the fuel cap is on tight or replace the pressure sensor or lastly ( it will probably the most expensive) the purge valve.
CODE PO442 EVAP SYSTEM SMALL LEAK DETECTED
A code P0442 most likely means one or more of the following has happened: A loose or improperly affixed gas cap A non-conforming gas cap (i.e. not factory/original brand) A small leak/hole in a fuel vapor hose/tube Other small leak in EVAP system Faulty vent o-ring seal

That will be your O2 sensor. It is tapped into your exhaust manifold. Very cheap fix. You can go to Autozone and get it It only takes five minutes to fix. Check it out.
Sorry dude but you don't have a prayer of a chance to fix this ! You know anything about automotive electronics , electrical systems ? Have a factory or professional scan tool . Going to advance auto won't cut it .
Hi, a P0442 is Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (small leak). Start with the simplest thing first, make sure the gas cap is on tight.
