OK< ball joints, they are sometimes bolted on, I hope yours is, you have to get in there to see, But you will also need the parts first, when you buy the ball joint, you will know what you got, either welded to the arm or bolted, then you can take off the arm or the ball joint. Either way, it should be no problem getting the thing off, get the car up, wheel off, don't get your legs under there, get dirty, and you might need another bottle jack to lift up the arm to get the bolts on. Check it out. Hope this helps.

Good you saw it before it comes off while driving. My Santa Fe front passenger side ball joint popped out on the road and pulled the right side gear shaft out when the wheel lost the lower support. Had to tow home and was lots more work replacing ball-joint while realigning gear shaft back into position. Anyway, if it's anything like my 2002 Santa Fe, you just need to jack up both sides of front of car (so wheels can be steered for easy access to joint), remove wheel, and remove the ball joint brace. A couple of bolts that may be hard to crack. Soak with WD40 and get some leverage on your wrench. Then install the new ball joint assembly in the old brace and install. I did need to order a special tool to get the C-Ring off and new one installed (it was a ring with no hole to insert my normal c-ring removal tool). I ordered the part at ReStockIt.com. (Snap Ring Pliers part number SKU KDT2534, $24.29, free shipping). Hope this helps. Good Luck.

How do I change my lower contol arm, right side in my 2000 ford focus se?

remove the wheel. then take out the lower ball joint bolt.remove the tie rod from the assembly this makes it easy to swing the assembly back and forth. using a ball joint fork insert it between the the ball joint and lower control arm and wack the end on it till the ball joint separates from the control arm. using a pry bar put it thru the control arm so you can pry down on the control arm to release the ball joint then towards the back of the control arm are 2 nuts remove these and remove the cap that they hold towards the front of the control arm is one more nut remove this one and then pull out the control arm replace in reverse orderonetufshoppe_40.gifonetufshoppe_39.gif

Front right ball joint broke

I think the ball joint is pressed into the lower control arm so you replace the whole shooting match. Doing the other side at the same time would be a good idea.

How to replace a CV joint 2000 Cavalier Drivers side

Buy the right CV axle. Raise right front of vehicle. Remove wheel. use a lugnut and washers to secure brake rotor so that it is not flopping and trapping rust behind. Remove axle nut. Loosen nuts from outer tie rod end stud and lower ball joint stud almost all the way off, but do not remove them completely. Seperate the studs from knuckles by striking each knuckle with a ball peen hammer. After the tie rod and lower ball joint are seperated from the spindle knuckles, pry down on lower control arm and push end of axle through hub toward transaxle until hub and spindle assembly is free from axle/CV joint. Place drain pan under transmission. Carefully place pry bar between innner CV joint and transmission and pop axle assembly loose. Install new axle in reverse of the dissassembly.

How to change Lower ball joint 2001 subaru outback?

i think the best solution is to replace the lower control arm that has the joint pressed into that member. to release the ball joint from the knuckle...get a 4 lb sledge and hit the side of the cast iron knuckle which will release that beveled shaft of the ball joint out of the knuckle, dont hammer on the threaded ball joint shaft itself ...it generally takes 3 or four strikes but once lose it will fall right down
