Check volume controls/etc on cd player. if volume goes up but no sound, check connections on back of cd player to vehicle wiring harness. if ok, put old radio in to see if sound works. if sound works, the cd player may be bad. if sound does not work with old radio, it's the car's factory installed amp. you can bypass it by running different wires to the speaker location.

Ok any idea where the amp is

  • Anonymous Sep 18, 2010

the amp is either under the dash on passenger side (where passengers feet go then look up in there or in the trunk under the rear dash.

  • randymoss88 Sep 18, 2010

ok thanks why does that effect the speakers?

  • randymoss88 Sep 18, 2010

SOURCE: YUKON CD PLAYER NO SOUND!

Is your IP Bus cable on the INPUT and not the OUTPUT ? I know it sounds funny, but usually(95%), that's the case. If it's in the wrong plug, you'll have power and a display, but no audio. That's why your getting data but no audio.

2004 GMC Sierra 2500HD with factory Bose stereo system but no on-star, put an aftermarket clarion CD/DVD player in it over 2 years ago i put in the adapter for making the Bose factory system work and

either your connectors need cleaning or maybe a break in the wiring. Is there on spot where both wires come together if so check there. If there is any plugs, pull them apart and clean them with contact cleaner

Trying to find out why no sound comes out of speaker in my 2006 grand caravan. Radio, CD and tape player work just fine. There is no sound??

Unscrew the suspected speaker and use a DVOM to check that values are correct or???......Check for juice at the + terminal of speaker with radio on,probably a open circuit, check your grounds....It is possible the output is completely fried;will appear that everything is okay, but no output......

I hooked up my cd player but have no music coming from inside speakers all music coming threw my subwoofer

I ran into the same problem with my mustang. Your vehicle uses a common ground for the speaker wire. Modern cd players have a safety mechanism that cuts power to the speakers if an improper ground or short is detected. Run new speaker wires to your speakers. Make sure you don't run a screw through them when putting everything back together. Just one speaker wire shorted out will kill power to all four speakers.

There is no sound coming from the speakers, not even the bluetooth. The volume control on the steering wheel and the knob also doesn't work. The radio, cd & dvd player work fine.

So everything is coming on but you have no sound from anything? If that is the case you may want to check the amp fuse. The car has a factory amp i'm trying to remember i think it is in the trunk.Look in your owners manuel for the fuse box location. If the fuse is good then the factory amp may be bad.Or you may have a blown speaker that is showing a short and putting the amp into protect. If the amp and or speakers are bad i highly recommend just buying after market speakers/amp.The price for the factory equipment is very high and there labor rates even higher lol.Plus if properly installed you will noticed better sound from the after market stuff as long as you get brand name equipment.Go to a well trusted audio shop in your area they should be able to see if it is a speaker or amp problem if your fuses are all good. They should be able to test the impedance of the speakers at the amp for you and see what is going on.

I connected a after market stereo in 2000 yukon the stereo turns on but no sound comes out and the stereo good what might be the problem?

If you got the stereo used the speaker wires might not work. I stereo only puts out sound thru the RCA output using an amplifier.

DOES THE RADIO PLAY? HERE ARE THE FACTORY WIRING COLORS FOR THE RADIO HARNESS, RECHECK YOUR WORK. IF U FIND NOTHING THEN IF THE RADIO PLAYS THE CD PLAYER IS DEFECTIVE, IT HAPPENS BELIEVE ME.

MY RADIO AND CD PLAYER DISPLAYS SHOWS TO BE WORKING, HOWEVER THERE IS NO SOUND. THE FUSE BOX FUSES ARE ALL GOOD. THE SPEAKER WIRES ARE ALL CONNECTED. WHAT COULD POSSIBLY BE THE PROBLEM.

Some high-power players have an internal fuse in line with the speakers so that an external short will not blow the output transistors. Have someone skilled look for this.

Also, check that your speakers are not wired backwards; some speakers will connect one side of the voice coil to ground. If you connect the hot side of your CD player to the ground side of the speaker, you kill the sound.

I replaced the cd player in my accord, the one before worked when i took it out, the radio i put in works as well tested it with hot and ground wires and a speaker to every terminal before i hooked it up...

On many cars there is an exterior amp that the sound goes through before it is sent to the speakers. If the remote turn on wire isnt connected after you take your previous cd player out then the amp wont know when to turn on and therefore no sound will come from your speakers although your cd player is doing its job.
