You need a mechanic with a high level scan tool to check the Diagnostic Trouble Codes and Live Data. It is probably ABS Sensor related, but should never leave you with no brakes..
it is an indication that the ABS system is not working. As it is a safety requirement for the road authority then not to have it fixed asap will result in a fine or a death So it could be considered dangerous.
on most ford cars and trucks the dash lite ABS should lite up when first starting engine then after it self tests itself the light should go out ,if the light stays on it's an indication that the self test has detected a problem with the ABS system, and in case you don't know what ABS stands for thats ANTI LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM yes thats the things that stop your car when you depress the pedal , so thats telling you theres a fault with that, it will require a code reader to get more specific of what the problem is , and as i've said before most national autoparts stores will ck fault codes for free ,they just want to sell you the part to fix it
