On my 1998 ford contour le, my brake lights wont come on. The one on my rear windshield comes on but shouldn't i have some over by the tail lights too?

If you have power thru the brake light switch, the next component to test is the turn signal switch. If the regular brake lights and turn signals are on the same circuit they both go thru the turn signal switch.

It sounds as if the wiper linkage has come adrift, normally will require renewal of a link arm

firstly you need to make sure that they are the tail lights & not the brake lights I find it strange if it is the tail lights as the tail & parking lights are on the same circuit & they should all stay on, but if it is the stop lights(brake lights) it could be that the brake light switch is faulty & needs to be replaced or it may have come loose & needs to be adjusted.......hope this helps......cheers.

Sounds like the wiper motor is seizing up... it doubles and the washer pump ...
try to move them manually when you have them turned on...

are the bulbs and ground wires making good connections.

Check the brake switch. A bad brake switch will fail to turn on the brake lights.

could be but not likely. sound like abs pump or abs ecu failure. to make sure check DTC's

have you checked all the fuses or if they are ok try checking the relays under the bonnet hope this helps regards Jim

yes park lights and dash lights are together. start looking in the trunk for a bad wire.

Check the book and make sure you are using the proper bulbs on all sides. (3957 looks just like 3956 but wont work right)
