where the upper rad hose meets the engine, take the bolts out of the neck that the upper rad hose connects to and underneath that is the thermostat..take note of which way the stat is installed. do not replace it backwards..be ready for a gush of rad fluid
locate the ECM under the dash on the right side in the side kick panel, gain access.do not remove it,light tap on it while it runs see it the motor changes.you probably need another ECM.I would have to have more info to help you better.
The overheating could be caused by a broken fan. The motor and the fan are two seperate pieces. When the engine heats up the fan comes on automatically. (keep your fingers out of the way) If the engine gets too hot and the fan does not come on, it could be electrical or a bad fan. If the fan makes noise but you don't see it turning, the motor could be bad or the plastic fan could be broken. Turn off and let the engine cool. See if the fan is attached to the motor. If the fan rotates freely it is probably attached to the motor. If it just wobles around, it is broken. Aftermarket fans are under $100.00. Original more like $200.00.
Fuel injector is leaking. Change the injector located inside the throttle body. It is loading up with too much gas during the night, abut is running fine when the excess fuel burns out of the system.
