The fuel pump/sending unit will need replacing very soon. They are together as one unit. If you are mechanically inclined and have the tools, you can replace it yourself, otherwise find a qualified mechanic to do the job for you. There are times when the wires get corroded from water too and does not send the proper voltage to the pump. These things must be inspected to determine if you have to remove the tank to replace the fuel pump/sending unit.

The indicator of fuel shows empty doesn t move but gasoline tank is full
suspect the following

1. the fuse for the fuel guage.
2. the float switch in the fuel tank is defective or sunk to the bottom of the tank and cant move.
3. cable has come off at some point.

Gas guage not working properly ,it has a full tank of fuel but the guage only shows a half of a tank
If it isnt in the cluster, its more than likely the fuel level sending unit. That is in the fuel tank.

I have a1987 F-150. The gas gauge for the rear tank always indicate that the tank is full when I know it is not. I try to put gas in but the tank won't let any gas in. Is there some type of sensors inside the tank that won't allow the tank to be filled or is this a guage problem?

you probably sucked all of the dirt in your tank into the filter. try changing your filter. turn key on and have some listen by the gas tank for a humming sound to test the fuel pump and see if it is working.

2002 Ford Taurus has problems accerlerating...
It sounds like the fuel is not being delivered sufficently to the engine. Try looking here. Perhaps a fuel injecter cleaner (you can pour Seafoam into the gas tank and it is a great fuel injecter cleaner and fuel stabilizer). What did your plugs look like when you replaced them? This can tell you a lot about the combustion chamber. A Haynes manual will be invaluable to you.

Sounds like the rear fuel pump in the tank is not working and the float or sender is bad also. check to see if the rear pump is working should make a humming noise.
