What motor is in the 04 Cavalier? If it’s the Eco Tech 4, you need to remove the black cover on top of the engine to access the plugs. Once you remove this cover you will see the coils and the wires for the plug are attached to this cover. Gently remove the plug wires and disconnect the electrical connector from the coils. Set this assembly aside. Using an extension and the correct size spark plug socket. Remove the plugs. With the new plugs check and verify the gap is correct prior to installing the new plugs. One the correct cap has been set, install the new plugs. It is recommend to use a piece of vacuum hose to start the threads on the plugs as to not cross thread the new plugs. One the plugs threads are started use your wrench to tighten the plugs. Do not over tighten as you can strip out the threads. Then reinstall the wires and connect up the coils, reinstall the cover and start the engine. Make sure there is no check engine light and the motor is running correctly.

To change the plugs you could youse a long socket and extension bar and to get the boots back on get a little washing up liquid on ur finger and rub just round the inside of them but dont use alot. once there back on leave for a while to let it dry a little.

No power/ check engine flashing

you need to have the car checked for codes in history ,
since it is not keeping the code light on,you can have the codes checked at autozone for free.

2004 chevrolet cavalier is not wanting to start. how to troubleshoot it?

you need to check for fuel pressure there should be a black plastic cap on the fuel rail you will need a fuel pressure tester i belive on that car it should be around 40psi or so maybe more. if you dont have pressure take of the fuel filter and make sure its not pluged up then check for power and ground at the fuel pump itself. if you do have fuel pressure then you need to figure out if you have spark and on this car you will have to get 4 spark plug wires so you can hook up a spark tester and make sure you have spark. if you dont have spark you could have a bad crank sensor i have come across this several times not to say that it couldnt be something else. also check fuses. also does the motor crank normaly or does it crank fast? fast is bad.
