1997 jeep cherokee sport 4x4, just replaced both upper and lower radiator hoses and i'm still getting a leak from the lower radiator hose, trying to figure out what the part is that the lower hose is going on so I can replace it, all the diagrams don't show the part in question.

The lower hose is connected directly to the water pump and if you follow the hose all the way up to where it connects to the pump and keep going you will see a weep hole in the bottom of the pump behind the pulley for it this is where the leak is the inside seal is leaking or the pumps gasket the seal leaks when the engine is off most times because the engine goes into heat soak when it's off and this increases the pressure inside and the coolant expansion , unless it's really bad then all the time especially if it's an old water pump and the original factory one it's 22-23 years old by door sticker date ok

If the hoses are news, then its possible that your problem may be in the metallic coupling (lower radiator).
